The Sun and Venus

The Sun is reckoned, by me, to be the alchemy of air into fire, literally the creation of fact in accordance with mind. The facts are those of awareness that is created as the icons of consciousness combine to form a centre of mind.

Venus is reckoned to be the alchemy of water into fire, literally the creation of truth in accordance with desire. By itself this usually manifests as attraction or attractiveness, a desire to make or be made a part of someone's awareness. Often that leads to romantic love, with many forms of expression.

The combination of the two places them in the same earthly manifestation, so the individual performs these two alchemies together, that is in the same walk of life as outlined by the house position, and connections to the rest of their chart. The consequence of that is that the perspective from which they know awareness is the same as the perspective from which they desire - they know what they want, and so may be a step ahead of the crowd in achieving their desires.

The curious thing about the Sun-Venus conjunctions is that they trace out two pentagrams, one by the conjunctions where Venus is direct, and one by the conjunctions where Venus is retrograde. There is a theory, known as the Venus Star Point, that claims a relevance of each conjunction point for all people born until the next such conjunction.
